Delicious!
I have bought many candles in the past that have described their scent as "vanilla cupcake" but I have never come across one that actually smells like an actual vanilla cupcake... until now! Normally these "vanilla cupcake" scented candles smell of vanilla but not of vanilla cupcake. This candle perfectly captures the sweet cakey vanillary smell of freshly baked vanilla cupcakes. It is absolutely gorgeous! After discovering Yankee candles I don't think I will ever go back. I suffer with anxiety and depression and these candles have really helped me relax and feel better, sometimes it's the little things that make such a big difference.

Absolutely amazing!
I couldn't say enough good things about this product! The scent is an absolute YUM - it smells exactly like what it says on the box, and the throw is great - it fills my medium sized bedroom with very high ceilings, and I can even smell it in my reception room as well. The burn also hasn't disappointed: I've had it for almost a week, burning it everyday for at least 6 hours each day and I was very impressed that I still have quite a lot of the candle left, it's not even near being halfway empty!
I think this scent is ideal for spring and summer and I will surely repurchase this candle, it's my new favourite from Yankee!

Doesn't come close to Buttercream
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've been buying this, and the similar Christmas Cookie, since they discontinued Buttercream, my ultimate favorite of all time. Neither come close to Buttercream, they are much weaker scents. I don't know why companies discontinue products that are big sellers and favorites of so many customers. I've read many reviews from other customers that are disappointed it was discontinued. I used to buy a lot more Yankee Candle before they discontinued Buttercream, and my other big favorite, Sunflower. Nowadays, I buy a lot of another brand that has several scents/flavors like Buttercream and I rarely buy YC anymore.

Used to be great
This has always been a favorite but I have one lit now and can’t smell a thing. Barely smell it even hovering over it. I lit another smaller cheaper candle and that one instantly filled the room. So disappointed. This has happened with way too many yankee candles nowadays. I used to spend the money on them because they were the strongest scented and the best. I’ve been using yankee for at least 15 years. After continuing to order and continually
Getting candles with no smell im done. I will no longer be purchasing any more yankee candles.

Faint Scent
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I absolutely love the smell of Yankee Candle Vanilla Cupcake. It’s a rich, creamy, buttery scent, which I find delightful to my olfactory. I like to light it when I am working from home. Unfortunately, the scent is barely there and this is a candle thAt is maybe 12 inches away from me; it’s on the same table I am working from. The scent improves somewhat when it’s placed in my bedroom with the door shut, but it’s still not up to par. I gave two stars because of its delightful scent..but what’s the point if I have to hold it to my nose or stand over it to enjoy it.
I was going to try another fragrance... but when I read the review, another writer expressed the same issue.

Dissapointed
Well i was excited with my purchase after careful choosing of so many different scents at the store. But after several times of using this candle I cannot tell you how dissapointed I was with the throw from this candle. I donot have a very big kitchen so thats not the problem. I returned it today along with strawberry buttercream which had the same problem also. Not sure about the quality of these candles. One thing I can say is the Blueberry Scone is by far my favorite one and when another sale comes up I will order just that one. Sorry I just tried so hard to love those candles.

Maybe it's me :(
I purchase over 300 dollars in candles each year from Yankee. Especially during the Thanksgiving & Christmas holidays! I LOVE them and give them as gifts. BUT THIS ONE, I could not smell...I tried and tried--but to no avail-- eventually put it in my bathroom and still very little 'throw'...Nothing like the old sage, white choc peppermint, or the household fav, holiday bayberry which I just stocked up on because they permeate my entire home. I burn it year round. This one [Vanilla Cupcake], I wanted to work, but alas it broke my heart (my daughter was baking)...$27.99 melting away :(
I just stop lighting it. Oh Yankee...

Fresh baked goodness with frosting!
I don't know how Yankee Candle does it, but this candle smells just like fresh baked cupcakes with white, vanilla frosting on top. It is less buttery than the Buttercream scent. It is more than just a straight vanilla scent like French Vanilla. It reminds me of whipped creamy goodness spread on a moist cake. The description says it has a hint of lemon, which I can smell just a bit. The subtle, mellow lemon scent adds a slight freshness to the candle and keeps it from being too heavy or overpowering. My one complaint is that every time I burn this candle, my kids come home expecting to find fresh baked treats because it smells so real! I would say it has a mid to strong level throw and it is capable of scenting a large room. Occasionally, we can smell this candle in other parts of the house. It would be a great idea for a birthday gift with the cute cupcake artwork on the front.
